30th-Nov-2009 07:19 pm - Dragon Age
Staleek
I just wanted to say Dragon Age is an addicting game. The only thing that makes me sad is that Claudia Black ended up voicing the character that doesn't get along with anyone and disapproves of 90% of my character's choices. This has resulted in me not taking her along in my party any more, which is sad because Claudia Black is awesome. Well, the character is awesome too, but I will not go the asshole route in the game just to make her like me because that would just alienate the rest of my party, except the dog, the dog always loves me. I love the dog.

The crap I have cooked so far for the pain in the ass that is Thanksgiving.

* 1 Apple Pie
* 1 Pumpkin Pie
* 1 Mincemeat Pie
* Congo Bar cookies
* Peanut Butter Cookies
* Monkey Bread (which is not in one piece since it refused to come out of the bundt pan)
* German Almond Bread
* Buttermilk Biscuits (which decided to spread out instead of rise)
* 2 Lasagnas

What has other people done? Well, my mom made her weird potato and meat stuffing and did the place setting thing.

What still needs to be made? The frelling Turkey. But I am making Dan do that when he gets here (he just doesn't know it yet). I cannot take any more cooking. I am in so much pain from standing so long. I just want to crash on the bed, but I can't because the Lasagna is still in the oven. *cry* I hate the holidays, why am I cursed being the only person who can/does cook?

Salem was fun. Ended up being asked to take pictures with a whole bunch of people. This makes me wish even more to get a chance to make a full body werewolf costume. I just need a job first :(

Anyway, I ended up getting a couple of books at this place that sold them all for 50% off list. The book place was scary with the mass number of books there were. There was towers of and towers of books in this small place. It was overwhelming. I'm sure if I had the time I could have found more then two books, but getting to anything that wasn't at the bottom of a pile or behind another tower of books would be utterly impossible.

And that's about all I really have to say about yesterday.

Happy Halloween!

I happen to be going up to Salem, Mass today with Dan and a few friends. Is it sad one of the reasons I'm excited to go is because there is an awesome comic/gaming/geeky store? I got a few Werewolf books last year that I had been looking for, I am hoping to repeat that luck. The large Army Navy store is also lots of fun along with the other random shops.

So it's almost fully offical, come January I am going back to school. Taking a certificate program at the Rhode Island School of Design. Met with the advisor for the program tonight and she was very nice. She's actually teaching the first class I am supposed to take. I am all excited about the idea of going back to school now. I think it will do me some good, especially since I have been all discouraged with life and trying to find work. Right now I really think good things may come of this, not to mention having a name like RISD on my resume would do wonders.
17th-Oct-2009 01:13 am - Wolf Quest!
Blue Wolf
The new Wolf Quest content is coming out soon! yay! ^_^ I don't care if I'm the only one I know who cares. I've been waiting for the new episode for some time. They even have a preview video up (http://wolfquest.org/preview_video_ep2.php). I know it is a simple game (as of right now, the new episode looks more in depth), but it exsists to help promote wolf research and protection, so I support it. If I had money I'd get the t-shirt and the cute little wolf plushie in the store. I'm such a plushie and novelty tee whore.

Speaking of protecting wolves, got this message from Defenders of Wildlife today to pass along, so I will:

Dear Friend,

Yellowstone National Park's famous Cottonwood Pack has just been destroyed -- all the adult wolves have been killed and the surviving pups will likely die without their wolf family. These are just some of the latest victims of the federal government's likely illegal decision to eliminate vital protections for our wolves in Greater Yellowstone and the northern Rockies.

Please sign Defenders of Wildlife's petition and urge Interior Secretary Ken Salazar to immediately take action to restore protections for these amazing animals.

The next few weeks will be crucial for our wolves in the Greater Yellowstone region. The future of wolves in the northern Rockies is at a crossroads -- and it will take the voices of caring wildlife supporters like you and me to make a difference.

I just signed Defenders' petition to Secretary Salazar -- and I hope you will, too. Please sign on today and help support a lasting future for wolves in America.

Thanks!
